As a child, my summers were spent at my grandmother’s home in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Grandma loved to take my brother and me to visit her friends and extended family. During these visits, strong, hot tea was served with delicious “squares” and cookies. Brightly-colored tins came out of the pantry, each one filled with delectable treats – oatmeal date bars, lemon butter squares, mint chocolate brownies, molasses crinkles – just a few of the samplings we enjoyed.
My signature recipes are gleaned from the spirit intended by my grandmother, aunts, and cousins’ collections and are all made from pure, honest ingredients just as they were years ago.
